We are saddened to note that an architect colleague and collaborator of ours died on March 17, 2017 in Manhattan, New York.  He was 84.  Hugh was one of three partners in Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer, the design architects for the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts (aka “the PAC”) for which Livingston Slone served as the local Associate Architect.  Each parter took the lead for designing one of the three halls within the complex, Hugh was the the designer of the Discovery Theater.  His talent, charm and personal warmth will be missed.

The architect for scores of theaters and public spaces, the New York Times said of Hugh’s career  “an architect who breathed exuberant new life into some of New York City’s most storied theatrical landmarks, among them Radio City Music Hall and the New Amsterdam Theater.  See  https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/18/nyregion/hugh-hardy-dead-architect.html?_r=0 for the full story.
