DHSS Virology Laboratory

The Virology Laboratory will be a state-of-the-art public health research facility for Alaska Department of Health & Social Services (DHSS). This lab facility is a collaboration with the University of Alaska Fairbanks future Bio Research Laboratory. The 29,000 SF, $18M lab will be the nucleus of a statewide viral diagnostic service that aids in the diagnosis and surveillance of human viral diseases of public health importance. The new shared facility will enable DHSS investigators and UAF researchers to collaborate in diagnostic activities related to animal and human health.
